MinnStf MEETINGS FOR MAY

     Saturday, May _11_;  Mechanical Engineering Room 4; 12;00, noon.
Sorry about the late notice on this meeting.  Topics that will probably be
discussed:  Further formal organization of MinnStf, including possible official
University recognition;  A name-change for the _Newsletter_; _MINI-APA_ or
alternatives; Meeting programs; _XENO_, a science fiction wargame; general
socializing among the attendees.

     Saturday, May _18_;  Auxillary Meeting;  Ken Fletcher's home (1501 Breda
Ave, St. Paul, 55108--see map); 12:00, noon.  Open to all interested Minn-
Steffers and anybody else who wants to come over.  Topics for discussion:
Continued from previous meeting; mutual aquaintences; KenFletch's ditto
machine and pitifully small fanzine and prozine collections;  activities of
local fans; various and sundry (whatever _that_ is) socializing.

     Saturday, May _25_; Regular Meeting;  Mechanical Engineering Building,
Room  4, University of Minnesota; 12:00, noon.  Topics for discussion:
Open, with priority given to questions and further discussion based upon
the first meeting.

     If the questions raised and discussed in the first meetings warrant
it, I may, with the cooperation of Jim Young, publish a summary of proceedings
to be distributed to the general membership.

JIM YOUNG'S FATHER DIES

     Maxwell Young died April 18 of a ruptured aorta.  Mr. Young was a
friend to those fans he knew and to those fans who knew him.

MinnStf GETS NEW MEMBER

     PFC Dick Tatge was named a MinnStf member by acclaimation, at the
MinnStf meeti ng of April 13th.  Dick was a former Minneapolis artist,
cartoonist, comic-fan, & science fiction fan.  He is currently in the
U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Devens, Massachutsetts.  He came home on leave,
and was able to find time to visit with local comic fans and stop in at
the MinnStf meeting.  On free weekends he has been working with a psy-
chedelic"light-show" in Boston.  Within a month,his Medical Evacuation
Hospital will be shipping off to the Delta country in Viet-Nam.
     Hopefully,    after his period of active duty is over (within the
year) he will return to the Twin Cities and the frigid winters he loves.
(Yes, he actually _likes_ the winters here!)
