_GOLDEN CARROT AWARDS_:  For punnery above and beyond the call of duty Bob Halfhill
received the Golden Carrot Award in the first meeting of the summer.  His line about
"..the Marine who was thrown out of the service because he was rotten to the corp..."
shall live forever in the annals of Minn-Stf history.

    The second meeting was such a free-for-all that I don't think we ever did actually
elect   a person for the Golden Carrot Award.  There were, however, several nominations:
Nate Bucklin with, "I come from the brightest star of the constellation Lyra," he said
Vega-ly.  Also by Nate; "Hire the handicapped-- they're fun to watch."  And, I think it
was         Charles Brin (or someone sitting near him) who said that the perpetrators of
some of the atrocious puns told at the last meeting should be put on a jet liner for
Spain in the middle of a thunderstorm because anyone knows that the "planes in Spain
fall mainly in the rain."
